Pyrotechnics Training

Pyrotechnics Training

Pyro international Limited takes pride in offering state of the art Firework and pyrotechnic training and licensing.
The process for becoming licenced is a 4 step licencing process that requires background checks including police checks.

Each person that undergoes this process will be allocated a log book and be required to conduct a certain amount of hands on experience in each level of your licensing.

First stage is to volunteer on a display meet the team and see if Fireworks is something you are interested in doing.
Once you decide to start the process you will need to attend one of our training days which will give you all the basic skills to conduct a firework display. During this process you will also be issued with the code of practice and a copy of the regulations. Each person once confident will need to complete an open book test referencing the regulations that are required to conduct a display.
If you are able to pass this test you will you will be issued with a level one compliance certificate which entitles you to use lower ground level display products such as cakes mines etc.

On receiving your level one certificate you will need to apply to worksafe for a CSL Licence (controlled substance Licence) this will allow you to purchase product a compliance certificate is only an approved handlers certificate stating what you can use but your CSL is required to purchase product.

Level two and three go allot smoother you will need to complete a certain amount of displays in that level to complete this part of your licence. This may sound easy but there are not to many level 3 displays in New Zealand so this part can take some time. Some people have organised and paid to host shows to pass this point.

Once Licenced you will be eligible to work with our team and potentially run shows on our behalf.
